MLB All-Star club wins a tough 5-3 outing against Taiwan – MLB Update
The Major League Baseball’s All-Star team faced a tough encounter by the Chinese National Club at the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium on Thursday night.
The Taiwanese team remained in the outing, unpredictable until the last inning as the MLB All-Star was full of powerhouse players to grab a narrow 5-3 win in front of a packed stadium in a cool night. It was the second win for the MLB team, which had overpowered
the Taiwanese club 7-0 in the first outing on Tuesday.
MLB has taken a 2-0 lead, but their little relaxation proved valuable for the Taiwanese club, which took the game to 3-2 putting the MLB under deficit for the first time in the five-game series. MLB took some time to get on board, but first tied the outing
at 3-all in the sixth inning as the Boston Red Sox out-fielder Josh Reddick earned a game leading RBI.
Yankees’ second baseman Robinson Cano’s double to take a 5-3 lead for good, which the All-star cashed to earn their second straight win of the series.
"There were a lot of flip-flips on the score, but luckily we got good pitching throughout the nine innings and our bats didn't stop," Reddick said. "Luckily, we scored a few more runs than they did. That's the way the game goes."
During the outing, an unfortunate event occurred, when Seattle Mariners Minor Leaguer and the Chinese Taipei native, centre-fielder Kuo h*i Lo, had a fracture in his leg and dislocated a right ankle in an attempt to reach at the plate. Lo received a serious
injury which forced the team to take him out on stretcher and then to the hospital.
"We're still concerned about the accident at home plate," MLB manager Bruce Bochy said in a postgame news conference. "That was really a tragedy in a good ballgame, so that takes away a little bit from a good ballgame."
The Major League Baseball All-Star club comprises of star players, including Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson, Erick Aybar and many other, reached Taiwan for a five-game series, which is a part of an effort by MLB to introduce their sport in different areas
of the World.
MLB club now has won Game 1 and Game 2 of the series against the Chinese Taipei National club and now will move to Intercontinental Stadium in Taichung for the next outing of the series. After playing this outing on Friday, the All-Stars will travel to Chengcing
Lake Stadium in Kaohsiung for their remaining two outings.
