  1. To win the wildcard berth, teams in the American Ledge have to be careful not to fall off a cliff. Getting to the postseason requires climbing high atop the standings, picking your spots, and not being afraid to reach for the top.

The wildcard berth is awarded to the team with the best record in the league which does NOT win its division -- i.e., the best second-place team. Divisions are meaningless for the wildcard. The wildcard team (per league, or ledge) is always seeded #4 regardless of record, and plays the #1 seed unless they are from the same division, in which case the wildcard plays the #2 seed.

  2. The wild-card is just simply- the team with the best record that didn't win their division still gets in the playoffs.

So look at it this way:

Assume: Angels, White Sox and Rays win their division.

The Blue Jays would have to have a better record then the Red Sox, Twins, Yankees, Rangers etc. etc.

Sorry, not happening this year for the Jays.

  3. The Jays win all of there games

The Red Sox lose at least 9 of there games

The Yankees lose at least 7 of there games

The Twins lose at least 3 of there games

The White Sox lose 5 of there games

  4. The Wild Card is the team that has the best record that doesn't win their division so if the season ended today the AL playoffs would be

Rays Angles White Sox and Red Sox With the Red Sox Winning the Wild Card For the Jays to win the Wild Card  The Jays would have to have Better records than New York, Minnesota and Boston Witch isn,t impossable but very unlikely.

    P.S. Its League not Ledge

  5. The wild card is the fourth american league team that goes to the playoffs. of all the non-pennant winners, the top win pct team goes to the playofffs too as the wild card.

    right its

    1.boston red sox

    2. minnesota twins

    3. ny yankees

    4. blue jays

blue jays dont have much of a chance...they're like 9 games back and there are only 30 more.

  6. Right now the Wild Card Standings are:

    1.Red Sox

    2. Twins

    3.Yanks

those are the top 3 teams in the wild card race.

Those are the teams from each division do not win the division but can win the Wild Card to get into the playoffs

If the jays wanna make it-man, u would need a miracle! SOrry- they are 11 games out in the division and 9 out of the Wild Card. So Jays gotta go on a streak or their done
