MLB Player Profile: Bradley Penny
Bradley Penny is an extremely talented Major Baseball League pitcher that has tremendous skill and experience throughout his career with various teams in the league. He has played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Florida Marlins, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles
Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and is currently signed to the Detroit Tigers.
Penny has had a fantastic career with many teams. Below is a look at his performance with the different teams that he has played for in MLB.
Florida Marlins: After his best records in the earlier years of his career, he was then become a part of Florida Marlins in 2000. He played his first match against Colorado Rockies on April 7, 2000. Through his fabulous pitching performances
he ranked second in the National League. Then in 2003, he had also a very competitive record, having very fabulous pitching average with the Yankees in the World Series, through which his demand was increased.
Los Angeles Dodgers: Penny joined the Dodgers after being traded by the Marlins. He faced a bad experience with them at the start of the contract due to injury and went to disabled list very soon. Then after his recovery, he put in some
very good consistent performances for the team. Due to that, the manager was very pleased with him and gave him a three year extension in his contract. He played in the Dodgers until 2008.
Boston Red Sox: He went to the Red Sox in 2009 and signed a contract of one year duration and the amount of contract was $5 million including his bonuses on performance basis. After a very horrible start against a match with the Yankees,
he found himself as a relief pitcher that he was not happy with. Thus he wanted to be released from his contract and the Red Sox obliged as he went to the San Francisco Giants.
San Francisco Giants: Penny signed a contract with Francisco Giants in August, 2009. Then after a decent season with the Giants, he gained some more confidence of his abilities and then became a free-agent and went to the St. Louis Cardinals.
St. Louis Cardinals: Penny again made a one year contract with them and disclosed his capabilities with a successful performance against the Yankees. Then again he had to faced muscle injuries and become a part of disabled list.
Detroit Tigers: Just recently Penny again signed a contract of one year with the Tigers and he wants to show that performances which he did in the last seasons with other teams.
Bradley said, “In the winning strategy, good pitching and defense makes a team champion in American League. So, I focus on pitching the ball more in a good length as compared to other positions.”
Penny had other offers by different team to play for them as he took serious notice on that and cleared that at this time he considered Detroit the best team.
This dynamic pitcher has a Win-Loss record of 108-88, ERA is 4.11 and his strike-outs are 1176 through the 2010 season. So he has a promising average in the last year and his challenge is to recover his form like that which he had in April and May.
