The 28-year-old Butera has only one year of experience in his professional MLB career. He was a natural athlete and had great talent in baseball. Due to his remarkable efforts in college baseball, he was geared up to make his place in the 48th
round of MLB Draft during 2002. Before playing his first-round, Butera joined Toronto Blue Jays to display his tremendous abilities.
Butera was awarded some titles due to his outstanding performance with his college leagues. He did not sign any contract after the Minor Leagues’ draft and become a free agent until the following year. After playing his debut game in the 48th
round, Butera earned much fame due to his outstanding performance against the rivals as he batted with a promising average and helped his team to get victories in crucial games.
Twins’ officials kept an eye on Butera’s performance and added him in their 40-man Minor League’s rosters. He made his debut on similar day and performed particularly well throughout the minor league season. In 2007, Butera was selected by the St. Lucie
Mets where he proved his spot by raising his batting average to .258 including 22 runs and five homers. He was lucky to select as a Florida State League All-Star.
Butera performed extremely well in different leagues and became the prominent player in Minor Leagues. He was an ace for Twins roster due to his promising average and gave them some implausible victories. Butera joined the double A Binghamton Mets at the
end of 2004 and maintained his batting tricks.
He was selected by the Twins in place of their second baseman Luis Castillo. Being a member of Twins, Butera also got some valuable awards with his great contribution in each game. 2008 season also went remarkable for Butera as he took part in All-Star Future
Game. He batted with a promising average and also hit some home-runs for the Twins. He was selected in the official 40 man Twins’ roster at the end of 2008.
Then, injuries occurred with nonstop interval for Butera but he recovered before the start of 2009. He played a vital role in his return game and slammed unbelievable home-runs to give the Twins an influential win. Butera served the entire year with the
Twins in 2009.
In the next half of the 2009 season, Butera batted with a full confidence and hit decisive RBIs with high grand slams. That season was most helpful for him and the Twins. Butera showed his smart act in the fielding as well. He gave the Twins some amazing
victories also by making stunning catches at left and right-fields.
He began his 2010 season with MLB and joined the Twins in their spring training season. Butera played regularly for the Twins as their experienced players suffered some injuries at that time. April 9, 2010 was an unforgettable day in his professional career
as Butera played a leading role in the debut against Cleveland Indians and attained his initial hit in MLB.
Butera’s career has been firm and a slight dip in form is usual. However, he should demonstrate himself to be a strong player with competitive development this season to help the Twins to the postseason.
