MLB Player Profile: Trevor Plouffe
Minnesota Twins’ short-stop, Trevor Plouffe showed a glowing performance in previous games as he hit number of home-runs and RBIs during second half of regular season. He also rated himself in the top infielders throughout his MLB career. Born on June 15,
1986, Plouffe is an infielder in Twins’ roster and stands 6ft 2in with weight of 200 lbs.
The 25-year-old Plouffe has only one year of experience in his professional MLB career. He was a natural athlete and had great endowment in baseball. Due to his notable efforts in college baseball, he was geared up to make his place in the 20th round of
MLB Draft during 2004. Before playing his first-round, Plouffe was selected in the Collegiate Baseball News High School All-American to display his tremendous abilities.
Plouffe was awarded some titles due to his outstanding performance with the Elizabethton Twins. He did not sign any contract after the Minor Leagues’ draft and become a free agent until the next year. After playing his debut game in the first round, Plouffe
earned much fame due to his exceptional performance against the rivals as he batted with an average of .283 and was also listed as the sixth best prospect in Baseball America.
Twins’ officials kept an eye on Plouffe’s performance and added him in their 40-man Minor League’s rosters. He made his debut on similar day and performed particularly well throughout the minor league season. In 2005, Plouffe was selected by Midwest League’s
Beloit Snappers, where he proved his spot by raising his batting average and attained the No. 12 rank in the overall best prospects.
Plouffe executed extremely well in different Leagues and became the renowned player in Minor Leagues. He was an ace for Twins roster due to his promising average and gave them some implausible victories to the Twins. Plouffe joined Fort Myers Miracle during
2006 and maintained his batting tricks.
He was selected by the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats in 2007 and got the Eastern Player of the Week award with his great contribution in each game. Plouffe was the only man in Twins’ roster who was appointed as an Arizona Fall League Rising Star.
2008 season also went remarkable for Plouffe as he joined Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. He batted with an average of .262 and hit 60 RBIs including nine home-runs with the Red Wings. Then, he was little bit shaky with the bat at the end of 2008.
The weather of injuries happened with nonstop interval for Plouffe but he recovered before the start of 2009. He played a key role in his return game and smashed back-to-back home-runs to give Twins an influential win. Plouffe used much of his time with
the Rochester in 2009 and played 118 games with a batting average of .260.
In the next half of the 2009 season, Plouffe batted with a full confidence and hit decisive RBIs with high grand slams. That season was the most productive for him and the Twins. Plouffe displayed his smart act in the fielding as well. He gave the Twins
some unbelievable victories also by making stunning catches at left and right-fields.
Plouffe began his 2010 season with MLB and joined the team as a replacement for Jeff Manship. Plouffe played frequently for the Twins as their veteran players suffered some injuries at that time. May 21, 2010 was an unforgettable day in his professional
career as Plouffe played a leading role in the game against Milwaukee Brewers.
Plouffe’s profession has been opaque and a slight dip in form is usual. However, he should express himself to be a strong player with a muscular recovery in this season to help the Twins to the postseason.
