MLB Season Review: Florida Marlins beat Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 in three-game series
National League’s Florida Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers battled it out in a three game series. Marlins were amazing and did an appreciable job as they completed a 2-1 victory in this series after defeating the Dodgers comfortably.
Let us take an overview and see how the Marlins dominated the Dodgers.
Game 1 – April 25: Los Angeles Dodgers 4 – Florida Marlins 5
Marlins directed a 5-4 win in the first game, as Ricky Nolasco was impressive with his pitching. He had four strike-outs with an ERA of 3.24 in the Marlins convincing victory. Marlins’ manager, Edwin Rodriguez said, “Nine? Wow. Back in spring training, we
were talking about winning close games, and they've been taking that to the next level. It's good to see.”
Dodgers’ batters were able to contribute just four runs in the entire game. Jon Garland threw beautifully for the Dodgers but that was not enough to earn a win for his team. He was able to strike-out only four batters on his 97 pitches and permitted four
hits with two earned runs.
Game 2 – April 26: Los Angeles Dodgers 2 – Florida Marlins 4
During the second game, Marlins outshined the Dodgers 4-2. Marlins’ starter, Chris Volstad threw the ball in good line as he pitched seven innings and surrendered just two runs and two earned runs with seven hits on his 108 pitches. Volstad had five strike-outs
with an ERA of 5.32.
Hanley Ramirez said, “Still, I'm not feeling 100 percent at the plate. I have to keep working to get 100 percent and start to the drive the ball-doubles, triples, and homers.”
Dodgers were jagged with the bat and scored just two runs until the end of the game. Clayton Kershaw had a shaky day with the ball as he threw just over five innings with an ERA of 3.52 and gave away six hits, four runs, two walks, one homer and four earned
runs on his 88 pitches.
Game 3 – April 27: Los Angeles Dodgers 5 – Florida Marlins 4
During the final game of the series, Marlins lost 5-4. Dodgers’ catcher Rod Barajas shined as he completed one run including three RBIs and went 1-for-5 with an average of .182.

Dodgers throughout the series. The Marlins dominated the Dodgers and managed to restrict their offence from making a comeback in the series.
