MLB Season Review: Los Angeles Angels beat Cleveland Indians 2-1 in three-game series
American League’s Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Indians both went head-to-head in a thrilling three game series. Angels did a wonderful job as they sealed a 2-1 victory in this series after defeating the Indians. Angels have had a remarkable season so
far as they got an acceptable Win-Loss record during the season.
Let us take a brief summary of these exciting games:
Game 1 – April 11: Cleveland Indians 4 – Los Angeles Angels 0

Indians directed a 4-0 win in the first game, as Mitch Talbot was incredible with his pitching. He threw his respective eight innings with an ERA of 1.46 and struck-out four batters in the Indians victory. Indians’ manager, Manny Acta said, “It helps to
have a lead and have some margin for error. That's something we didn't have very often here last year. But we have a better lineup this year.”
On the other side, Angels’ batters were unable to add any run right through the game. Tyler Chatwood pitched well for the Angels but that was not enough to grab a win for his team. He was able to strike-out three batters during his 90 pitches and gave away
four walks, four hits, four runs, two home-runs and four earned runs with an ERA of 7.20.
Game 2 – April 12: Cleveland Indians 0 – Los Angeles Angels 2
In the second game, Angels outclassed the Indians 2-0. Angels’ starter, Dan Haren pitched the ball accurately as he threw nine innings and allowed one hit with an ERA of 0.73. Haren struck-out eight batters on his 125 pitches.
Haren said, “I was going at them pretty much the whole night. It was such a close game, I didn't want to leave anything out over the plate -- but I didn't want to get burned with walks, either.”
Indians struggled with the bat and did not add any runs until the end of the game. Fausto Carmona had a bad day with the ball as he pitched just over seven innings with an ERA of 6.11 and surrendered four hits with three walks on his 118 pitches. Carmona
struck-out six batters.
Game 3 – April 13: Cleveland Indians 3 – Los Angeles Angels 4
During the last game of the series, Indians lost 4-3. Angels’ right-fielder Torii Hunter shined as he had two RBIs and went 1-or-5 with an average of .259. He said, “We just played a hot team, and they won eight in a row before yesterday.”
Indians’ batters were able to yield only three runs in a series finale. Carlos Carrasco pitched seven innings for Indians and gave away three runs, five hits, three earned runs and two walks on his 90 pitches. However, an impressive team effort gave the
Angels the series win against the struggling Indians.
