MLB Season Review: Los Angeles Angels beat Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 in three-game series
American League’s Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays both battled it out in a thrilling three game series. Los Angeles did a wonderful job as they sealed a 2-1 victory in this series after defeating the Blue Jays convincingly. Angels have had a remarkable
season so far as they got an acceptable Win-Loss record during spring training season.
Let us take a brief summary of these thrilling games:
Game 1 – April 8: Toronto Blue Jays 3 – Los Angeles Angels 2

Blue Jays directed a 3-2 win in the first game, as Kyle Drabek was incredible with his pitching. He threw his respective six innings with an ERA of 1.38 and struck-out five batters in the Blue Jays victory. Speaking to reporters, Vernon Wells said, “You're
never really going to reach people's expectations no matter what you do.”
On the other side, Angels’ batters were able to add only two runs throughout the entire game. Erwin Santana pitched well for the Angels but that was not enough to grab a win for his team. He was able to strike-out seven batters during his 99 pitches and
gave away one walk, six hits, three runs, one home-run and three earned runs with an ERA of 3.68.
Game 2 – April 9: Toronto Blue Jays 5 – Los Angeles Angels 6
In the second game, Angels outclassed the Blue Jays 6-5. Angels’ starter, Matt Palmer pitched the ball accurately as he threw just over four innings and allowed 10 hits with an ERA of 7.71. Palmer struck-out two batters on his 70 pitches.
Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia said, “Our guys were pitching up against it all night, and for the most part, they made pitches and managed to get out of some stuff.”
Blue Jays struggled with the bat and added just five runs until the end of the game. Brett Cecil had an insecure day with the ball as he pitched five innings with an ERA of 7.20 and surrendered 10 hits with one walk on his 81 pitches. Cecil struck-out three
batters.
Game 3 – April 10: Toronto Blue Jays 1 – Los Angeles Angels 3
During last game of the series, Blue Jays lost 3-1. Angels’ centre-fielder Peter Bourjos shined as he had two RBIs and went 1-or-4 with an average of .233.
Blue Jays’ batters were able to yield only one run in the series finale. Jo-Jo Reyes pitched seven innings for the Blue Jays and gave away three runs, six hits, one earned run and one walk on his 119 pitches. However, a decent team effort gave the Angels
a series win against the struggling Blue Jays.
