MLB Season Review: Los Angeles Dodgers defeat San Diego Padres 2-1 in three-game series
National League’s Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres both went head-to-head in a thrilling three game series. Dodgers did a brilliant job as they sealed a 2-1 victory in this series after defeating the Padres convincingly. Dodgers have had a remarkable
season so far as they got an acceptable Win-Loss record during the early spring training season.
Let us take a brief summary of these exciting games:
Game 1 – April 8: Los Angeles Dodgers 4 - San Diego Padres 2

Dodgers directed a 4-2 win in the first game, as Ted Lilly was incredible with his pitching. He threw just over four respective innings with an ERA of 6.00 and struck-out three batters in the Dodgers victory.
On the other side, Padres’ batters were able to add only two runs right through the complete game. Clayton Richard pitched well for the Padres but that was not enough to earn a win for his team. He was unable to strike-out any batter during his 16 pitches
and gave away no walk, one hit and no earned run with an ERA of 3.86.
Game 2 – April 9: Los Angeles Dodgers 4 - San Diego Padres 0
In the second game, Dodgers again outclassed the Padres 4-0. Dodgers’ starter, Hiroki Kuroda pitched the ball in accurate line as he threw just over eight innings and allowed six hits with an ERA of 1.72. Kuroda struck-out four batters during his 117 pitches.
Tony Gwynn said, “I've envisioned it, but it definitely wasn't under the circumstances that we're in now. Nevertheless, I was blessed to have an opportunity to get up there and perform well.”
Padres were struggling with the bat and added no run until the end of the game. Dustin Moseley had a bad day with the ball as he pitched six innings with an ERA of 2.08 and surrendered eight hits with three walks on his 107 pitches. Moseley struck-out only
one batter and gave away just two earned runs.
Game 3 – April 10: Los Angeles Dodgers 2 - San Diego Padres 7
During the last game of the series, Dodgers lost 7-2. Padres’ catcher Nick Hundley shined as he struck two RBIs and went 1-for-2 with an average of .440. Hundley said, “Ryan is going to be fine.”
Dodgers’ batters were able to yield only two runs in the series finale. They struggled throughout the game. John Ely pitched just over five innings and gave away four runs, six hits, four earned runs and three walks on his 107 pitches. However, a team effort
gave the Dodgers the series win against the struggling Padres.
