MLB star Josh Johnson will tee off at Kenny G Gold Pro-Am Honda Classic in Florida
Josh Johnson is going to play the Honda Classic, scheduled to start from March 1 to 4 at Florida.
The Professional Golf Association (PGA) event is in the news due to the participation of big names. It will be played on the amazing venue of PGA National Champion Course, Palm Beach Gardens.
The Marlins ace, Johnson, an enthusiastic golfer, is in the field of the exciting Florida event. He received an invitation from the tournament officials and got permitted from his team to play the upcoming golf event.
He will display his performance at the Kenny G Gold Pro-Am, which is part of the Honda Classic and features plenty of celebrities.
There are four players in his group. He will be playing with Jay Feely, Rusty Staub and Joe Theismann.
"I'll be wearing a Miami Marlins visor to promote the team," Johnson said. "It will be good. I've never played in one of these before. It helps out local charities, and I'm trying to get my foundation out there as well".
Johnson will also be supporting the charity, associated with the tournament. The purpose of this fund raising campaign is to help the underprivileged children and animals.
"I couldn't hit the ball with a driver left-handed, but I could hit the ball with the driver right-handed," Johnson said.
"I was like, 'I'm going to stick with this side.' I can hit irons left-handed. I can't hit a driver left-handed for some reason," he continued.
He is a big fan of golf and has played in the past as well, mostly during off-seasons. He could not play the last season properly, as he suffered a right hand injury while playing at the Major League Baseball (MLB) season.
According to Johnson, he is absolutely fine and will not face any sufferings while swinging the club.
He only withdraws when he faces health troubles. Otherwise, he never wants to be outside of the field and never misses the excitements of one of world's famous sports.
There are many stars set to show up at the Honda Classic and Johnson is one of the favourites to attract a huge number of spectators in Florida.
He will tee off on March 1 and is expected to display amazing strokes till Sunday.
