MLB teams show interest in Japanese star pitcher Yu Darvish – MLB News
Several Major League Baseball teams are showing great interest in Japanese star pitcher Yu Darvish who is still waiting to start his career in the big league.
However, the MLB teams on Wednesday failed to submit their bids due to their concentration in the domestic trade. However, now several teams including the New York Yankees, along with Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Cubs are making a new course of action
which might determine his fate in MLB.
Darvish’s Japanese club, the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters however, still gave no green flag that whether they will waive off his contract or negotiate with prized Japanese sensation.
Though the chances are huge that the Chicago Cubs are going to offer him a reasonable deal but on contrary to that his own desire to play for them will matter more.
On the other hand, every team is looking very carefully on Darvish’s stats particularly in Japan where this right-hander went 18-6 along with a 1.44 ERA, 276 strike-outs, 36 walks in 232 innings playing with the Fighters last season.
Regarding Darvish game and his huge talent, the New York Yankees’ manager Joe Girardi has said earlier, “[Darvish] is a young man with huge talent out of Japan that we know has a lot of talent, Whenever the Yankees have a chance to get better next season,
and we investigate all of our leads to get him. He's someone that we have followed closely, and we'll see what happens.”
Many do not know about Darvish in America but still plenty of people do recognise his impressive talent when he led the Japanese team to win the World Classic Baseball victory in 2009. His extraordinary pitching certainly alerted many MLB scouts who later
gave detailed presentations to their respective teams. One particular fact about Darvish’s talent is that he is still very young and whichever team he will play in, this is sure that he will be given a long contract.
It will be interesting to see which team Yu ends up, as he is an extremely talented pitcher that any team in MLB will love to have in their rotation.
