MLB’s Toronto Blue Jays’ Baseball player J.P. Arencibia stands by NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs
They are from two different sports. They are from two different leagues. But J.P. Arencibia is standing by Toronto Maple Leafs and still in full support of them.
Jonathan Paul (J.P) Arencibia plays for Toronto Blue Jays in the Major League Baseball (MLB) and is a true supporter of the National Hockey League (NHL) team that is based in the same city as his.
From 15th march onwards, Maple Leafs faced a losing streak which was one of the worst ever. They lost five games on a trot, which earned fans' anger and criticism of spectators and media.
But an encouraging and supporting call came, though from another support which made Maple Leafs strong and made them realize that they are not alone at this moment.
J. P. Arencibia showed his loyal support at that bad time on Toronto Maple Leafs by tweeting to his more than 70,000 twitter followers that,
"Hate reading the negativity towards the Leafs. Guys play to win, try not kicking them when they are down, but pushing them to finish strong."
Arencibia already is a friend with many of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ players but now he surely has earned much more respect of those hockey players. The relationship between Toronto Maple Leafs’ player and Toronto Blue Jays players’ is natural because both
of the teams are based in same city and most of the players of both teams are Torontonians.
Nowadays, when NHL players have an off-season and MLB players are going through one of the busiest time of the year, Blue Jays players are receiving a lot of tweets from Maple Leafs players and some text messages as well.
Some of the Maple Leafs’ players even paid a visit to Blue Jays which made Blue Jays’ Ricky Romero very excited, from whom hockey earned an interest after his hometown Los Angeles Kings won Stanley Cup.
Blue Jays in-fielder, Brett Lawrie, who is the only Canadian in the Toronto based Baseball team also talked about his interest in the hockey and the NHL team. The 22-year-old said,
"The relationship we have with those guys is great because we understand each other's sports. We like hockey and they like baseball. We even had a hockey fantasy league in the room. I didn't do so well, but I tried my best."
