MLS All Stars versus Manchester United – Preseason friendly: Second half review (Part 1)

In the 48th minute of the encounter, Manchester United were awarded a free kick 30 yards away from the MLS All Stars goal when Rooney was brought down to the ground with a cynical challenge. Rooney stepped up to take
the free kick but rather than having a shot at goal, the Englishman played an intelligent pass towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 who made a trademark forward run down the left wing. In the end, the Frenchman’s cross was not read by his team mates as the ball whistled across
the MLS All Stars goal without any Manchester United player in sight.

Berbatov who outmuscled his marker to chip the ball over the onrushing MLS All Stars goalkeeper. However the Bulgarian striker’s chip struck the cross bar and remained in play.
Nonetheless, Berbatov acted like a poacher and finished off the chance by burying the ball into the back of the MLS All Stars net on the follow up volley despite some pressure from the opposition’s defence. After getting their
third goal of the match, Manchester United slowed down the pace of the match by decreasing the tempo that they were playing at. They focused on retaining the possession of the ball rather than hurrying forward in attack. This created a real conundrum for the
MLS All Stars who were feeling tired due to their enthusiastic approach in the first half, an approach which failed to pay any dividends for them.
In the 57th minute, Manchester United almost conceded their first goal of the encounter as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 ushered MLS All Stars forward. Beckham whipped in an accurate cross towards LaBrocca who found himself in hectares
of space inside the Manchester United penalty area. But disappointingly enough, the MLS All Stars striker was unable to direct his header properly as it missed the Red Devils’ goal.
