as much as i cant stand Dana White and his arrogance, i just wish all the best fighters would fight under one promotion(UFC).

MMA is in danger of going down the same path as boxing where there are 5 world champs at each weight and they all seem to dodge each other untill the end of there career and then take the big payday.

for instance Roy Jones Jr should have fought joe calzaggie 10 years ago when both were at there peak, not it seems they might now fight when Jomes is well over the hill.

i just dont want to see MMA go the way as boxing, i wanna see the best fighters fighting each other in there prime.

any thoughts, maybe im talking bollocks

  1. I agree that all the best fighters should be fighting each other.  Unfortunately, He who has the biggest wallet will get the majority of the fighters.  Sadly, that person(s) is the Maloof brothers who put their pitch boy, douche bag Dana White, out there to p**s us all off.  I say to Dana - grow some stones, give Fedor his due props, and start giving us fights with formidable contenders.  There can not be a monopoly in this sport - we need other fight companies to come in and let the UFC know that they are NOT the top dogs anymore.

  2. Yes !!

It would be good if everyone fought under the UFC banner and understand your point re: Boxing and multiple world champs at each weight.

Sadly UFC has changed beyond all recognition from when it first started way back in the early 90's as the ideal ultimate with few rules and open weight and in my mind true NHB but now with it's limited rules and weight category's and big money oriented format ,I can see it going down the same sad route as wrestling in say another 10yrs time with even more hype and trimmings.

Only my humble opinion as a former fan, best wishes :)***

  3. I am also fearful of MMA becoming more like boxing, in that thier are several champs in way to many weight classes, half of which are paper champs and guys only fight each other for big paydays.

MMA is kind of in need of multiple organizations right now since the fighters dint have any kind of union or power and many of them are under paid. I dont think the top notch guys like Couture or Tito Ortiz are underpaid, but the entry level guys even in the big promotions like the UFC make less than 5 figures per fight. I think the UFC should pay the lesser known fighters more and alow the top fighters to get sponser they want so they can make more money outside of thier contracts with the UFC. It is like that in most other sports, the NFL has rebbok as a sponser and rebbok makes all the jersey's but players can be sponserd by NIke and still where nike shoes and guys make the real money from sponsers, Tiger Woods gets about 100 mil a yr from nike but only about 8mil from golf.

  4. I totally understand where your coming from, but i think different organizations are great for mma.... As long as there are more than one organization then up and coming fighters will get there shot... if UFC is the only organization around, then we would continually see the same fighters over and over again... With differnt organizations we get to see great new fighters like Jake shields, gina carano, ben rothwell,  kj noons, urija faber, miguel torres, manny tapia, carlos conduit, etc.... and we also see former UFC stars get their coreers back on track because of different organizations like Robbie lawler, josh barnnet, andrei arlovski, vitor belfort, etc... and along with that we also get to see some awesome cards... july 19th's night was one of the best nights for mma ever!! a fan gets to see two of the best pund for pound fighters on the same night (fedor and anderson silva) and one of them was free just because Dana felt threatened by a new organization
