  1. He still has a lot to learn on his own admission after the Thompson fight :)***

  2. he a joke he is gray shaws (elite XC owner) meal ticket he got destroyed bu glass jaw thompson he jest eaten alive with any legit fighter

  3. Kimbo is a sideshow brought in to keep Elite XC from going bankrupt which he still might not be able to do. (EXC is down 27 million dollars into the hole)

He hasnt fought people worthy of mention, and in his first televised fight he got matched up with Thompson who has lost 6 of his last 8 fights, 3 straight by KO. Even that fight took a terrible ref's call to win.

I see people keep writing that he needs time, but they must not realize Kimbo doesnt have time. He is 34/35 years old already. The two or three years to make him into a half decent fighter puts him at 37/38. Its pretty amazing for people to fight at that age, and given his history of drugs, smoking, and alcohol I dont think his body can hold up.

Lastly, he has heavy fists but even his boxing is weak. Any halfway decent boxer would go inside his sweeping punches with jab after jab and render him defenseless.

  4. He's good, but not Ultimate Fighting material. . .

  5. I think that you can't realy see whether or not he has real skills because he continues to fight scrubs. His last fight was prematurely stopped. He keeps getting babied, which makes it hard o judge his true potential

  6. Kimbo couldnt fight his way out of a shoe box. If he were to get in the cage with a real fighter he would go down quicker than the Titanic. His only attribute is that he is big strong and ugly. That is very intimidating in itself.  But in the cage, he had no skill, no stamina,or endurance. And NO credibility!

  7. He knows how to fight. What better training ground is there than fighting in the street? He knows how to take a punch, and he knows how to dish out punishment. He also attracts attention and generates intrest off of his physical apperance. some of the attention is positive, most of it seems to be negative, but people are watching. He just needs to patch some of the holes in his MMA game, and he'll be OK.

  8. Kimbo has a lot of experience in bare knuckle fights against opponents with little or no training. He had one match against Shawn Gannon (An MMA guy with 2 fights) that was supposed to be a striking only match and Gannon was beating the h**l out of him until Kimbo tackled Gannon and the fight ended up being stopped.

Kimbo has strong hands, good timing on his feet, and he's very very tough. He's working really hard with his training camp to become a well rounded fighter, and he knows he has a lot to learn to make it big in MMA. Unfortunately for him EliteXC is a terrible organization and they are billing him as the second coming of Fedor, which he is not yet. Given 3-4 years of solid training to put his ground game together he'll be a great heavyweight. But right now he just doesn't have the skills.

  9. he has good punching... and that's about it at this point in his career.... he first of all needs to work on his conditioning... he was nearly passed out after his last fight.... also, he has to work on his ground game a whole lot if he wants to be taken seriously.... and even though he's supposed to have some really hard punches, he couldn't knock out Thompson in his last fight either.... we've all seen his punches against a bunch of untrained fighters on the net, but I'm gonna have to see that punching power against some real competition before I can say that he has real knock out power in MMA

  10. he has potential.  is he top ten? no way!!!  hes going about his training the right way.  not willing to just think that his hands are gonna do it all for him.  he needs to work cardio badly.  his ground game is coming along but is nowhere to the level of say fedor, big nog, or couture.  he'll be alright if he keeps the right people around him

  11. Kimbo exposed himself big time in his last fight.  I wouldn't be surprised if his next cake opponent ground and pounds the c**p out of him.

  12. He's a big powerful fighter, his boxing skills are pretty good. If he keeps training as hard as he is, with time he will be a force.
