MMA - Is 15 too late?

Question

Hi, i really enjoy watching MMA on tv and have been seriously considering getting into it a while now, the only thing holding me back is the fact that i feel 15 may be too late to start. Also i was wondering what MMA in the UK is like for beginners. I really want to start but dont know if it will be worth the money.

Are you wanting to learn martial arts for the sake of going pro in MMA or do you actually want to learn on how to fight, and learn discipline.  If it is the latter I say have at it, this will be unlike any other sport you could ever compete in trust me.

I'm 27 and I just started. It's awesome, I get my trash kicked every time by kids who started when they were 15. I love it.

Age never matters in any Martial Art, I started Taekwondo at 16.    GOOD LUCK.

like 15 years old? my boyfriend is 24 and is looking into MMA lessons , its never too late to start!

I'm 24 and I will start training as soon as I have the money for it. You are at a great age to start.

Nah, it's not to late. Many notable fighters  started martial arts at about your age or above.

If your serious about it and given that your 15, you should consider going into a High school wrestling program. Top champions like Randy Couture and Matt Hughes started their training in high school wrestling.  It's a great way to start, then you if still feel the same about it, consider training in some thing else like Jujitsu or Judo to learn throws and submissions and develope a good strong foundation. I think 15 is great age to start building your foundation with these methods of training. You can always add on striking skills a bit later.
