  1. I like GSP or BJ. I think if fighters stop trying to knock out Anderson he would be in bigger trouble. I felt dan Henderson could have beat by just tying up and taking him to the ground. Henderson said he wanted to knock him out. Stupid thinking. Anderson is best stand up fighter and still decent on ground but horrible take down defense. Lutter was taking him down at will and so did Henderson when he tried. Even Franklin did, but Franklin is a lot like Anderson but not as good

  2. The best mixed martial artist in the world in my opinion is GSP. I just think he has the tools to beat Sherdog's top ranked pound for pounder Anderson Silva. His strength would be a real asset in getting Silva to the ground where Anderson Silva has shown some susceptibility to submissions.

  3. pound for pound-toss up between george st pierre or uriah faber-easily

  4. BJ Penn is best, pound for pound.

  5. a level 9 shaolin monk. THey have to learn so many styles of kung fu. And yes, that includes grappling styles of kung fu as well, and they spend up to 9 hours a day training.

If I had to pick a "ring" MMA fighter. Id have to say Randy Couture or lyoto machida.

  6. Right now, easily, Fedor Emanialenko.  Far as MMA athletics are concerned and considering the brutality of Russian SAMBO training, he's in a league of his own.  The only way you could beat him, is by knocking him out.  Grappling with him is useless because his high altitute training has made it so that he requires very little oxygen to function, meaning, most grappling moves, chokes included, are useless against him.  Worse yet, he's not just going to just stand there, let you walk up to him and hit him either.  Even worse than that is the fact that he's got a granite chin, the result of SAMBO conditioning.  In Russian SAMBO, part of the reason SAMBO fighters have heads of stone, is because their warmup exercises, if you saw Human Weapons which is a more or less reliable source, are designed to make them dizy.  The thinking behind this being if they can fight while dizy, or rather train while dizy, in time that will condition their brain to absorb shock.  SAMBO fighters actively bang their heads on the mat deliberately, to condition their heads to withstand impacts, its part of the reason Fedor Emanialenko is almost impossible to choke unconscious or even knock out, despite the fact that he has been known to take direct hits to the jaw that would have floored most fighters.

The combination of high altitute training, plus the inherent burtal nature of Russian SAMBO, and combine that with Russian stubborness and the hard life the country has, makes it so that for the time being, Fedor Emanialenko is in a league of his own.  I'll tell you right now, there are hardened criminals who are probably scared of him, because he is that kind of fighter.  His wife, meanwhile, swears he's the sweetest guy she ever dated.  That's why she married him.  That may be so in his personal but in the ring its a different story.

The only MMA fighter who stands a chance at beating him, is Randy Couture, if he fights him before his age catches up to him that is.  Couture is the only fighter I can think of, with the strength, focus, polished technique, and punching power necessary to take down Emanialenko.

Fedor Emanialenko though, and few MMA aficionados in Japan or the U.S. would argue with this point, is easily the best MMA fighter in the world hands down.  Also, the only way you could beat him, is if the fighter in question had Tyson or Marciano's punching power, but with the speed, acuracy, and technique, of Sugar Ray Robinson.  For people who gave the other person who said "Fedor" thumbs down, they don't know what they are thinking, and other poster's here do NOT know what they are talking about.

Ever see the fighter Mark Coleman?  Ever see him in his UFC debut?  All he did was tackle people and then pound them into a pulp, the infamous "ground and pound."  When he went up against Fedor, there was fear in his eyes.  Think about it.

    peace out.

  7. I love all the Fedor fanatics. I still maintain that if Fedor weighed 180 GSP or BJ Penn would beat him.

That being said I wish I could reserve judgement on this question for about a year and by that time GSP will have fought BJ Penn again and Anderson Silva will have taken on some better guys at 205, then I could make a better decision about whos the best. Since I have to answer this question now I will take Silva, the reason being is that wrestling is considered to be his biggest weakness and he dispatched of an olympic level wrestler in Dan Henderson. If someone could hit GSP enough times to test his chin or someone could actually display good striking and push the pace against BJ Penn to test his standup and cardio I might go with one of them but I havnt seen those things happen in some time. Although if GSP and BJ Penn fight the winner would have to be the best fighter in the world.

  8. FEDOR " THE RUSSIAN EXPERIMENT" CAN NOT LOSE.
