MMO addiction.....how do you beat it? Dont say just dont play it aint that simple?

So GC what is to keep you from opening another account? I have thought about asking the Guild Wars people to jsut permanently ban me.

i uninstalled world of warcraft, blocked the site with a passwrod that i dont know (just typed in random gibberish).  i got rid of runescape by doing same thing.

Sell all your stuff, delete all your characters and cancel your account. Then, find something else to do with your free time.

List your interests on a sheet of paper and think of what else you enjoy besides the game. If you're into music then try picking up an instrument, if you're into sports then try shooting some hoops at your local park or practice skating there with your friends. If you really are THAT attached to this game then just try monitoring how long you play, try doing another activity and then after playing the game - as a reward system for yourself. If you do not have enough self control for this then I'm sorry I cannot help you, but I'm almost positive this will work. Good luck!

All addictions are about the same thing--avoiding uncomfortable feelings. Shopping, gaming, drinking...whatever... it is all the same. You need to find a way to be comfortable with who you are when you are not involved with your addiction.

Of course most addicts don't want to admit they are running from uncomfortable feelings, but if you can turn around and face your issues, you won't need the addiction anymore.

What makes you sad, what makes you angry? Find the courage to walk through that scary forest because an addiction free life is on the other side.

although i never had a serious problem with mmo since i never play that besides counter strike source, starcraft, warcraft, and cs 1.6

i played Wow for a while and never did like it
