MOD and MOI file formats ?

I am borrowing someones camcorder. It produces .MOD and .MOI files, however I do not have software that recognizes this on my pc. I tried to rename the mod to mpg but got no sound. How can I access these files using software I can download or one that comes with windows.

  1. Mod and MOI are file formats used by JVC, Sony, and probably other camcorders mfrs.  You can play these files using the free download of WinAmp 5.01 which can be downloaded here:
