  1. It seems like the light blue--you know, Oriental Ave.

  2. Red and Orange - Illinois and New York (not counting the RailRoads, which win with B&O at the top).

The order changes slightly, depending on whether people stay one, two, or three turns in Jail (as you might expect).

    Good luck in your games!

    =======Here's some more info===========

Here are the probabilities for the two color groups, staying one turn in jail (which is most likely during the early part of the game):

    Red - Illinois Ave.                          0.032086565

Orange - New York Ave.                0.031772170

    Orange - Tennessee Ave.            0.028787362

    Red - Kentucky Ave.                     0.028494082

Orange - St. James Place             0.027237461

    Red - Indiana Ave.                         0.027128837

More important than probabilities, of course, is return on investment ("bang for the buck", or ROI).  These have also been calculated, and here they are, in order (C-G = color group):

       1. All 4 railroads

              * One reason why this is the best starting point: the revenue flow from railroads is much more constant over time whereas some of the other properties may have the same ROI but they come with bigger payouts over longer time spans. Owning 3-4 railroads is a cash cow: it will bring a continuous flow of money that can fund your monopolies.

       2. 3 houses on each of the orange C-G (St James/Tennessee/New York)

       3. 3 houses on each of the light blue C-G (Oriental/Vermont/Connecticut)

       4. 3 houses on each of the light purple C-G (St Charles/States/Virginia)

       5. A hotel on each of the dark purple C-G (Mediterranean /Baltic)

              * This option gives by far the worst return of the 5 starting positions; in fact, until you get 4 houses, this C-G is the worst investment in the game!

              * However, his option does have 2 advantages: it is the cheapest of the 5 and it only has 2 properties so owning the entire C-G may be easier, especially in large games.

  3. i have asked a scientist about the odds and he said its green and it says something with the word garden and they second best is b and o railroad

  4. The red!

  5. I believe that all properties are more or less a random land-on probability, except possibly ones that are around 7 spaces from any major landmark (By that I mean any spaces that have a Chance/Community Chest which lead you to that space.) Also, any proerties which have their own Chance/Com Chest cards (Such as Illonois) obviously have a higher chance.

Basically, 7 spaces away from the Jail, Railroads, Go or any other Card-Ralated spots are the most common, simply because 7 is the most common thing to roll, making 7 spaces away the most common place to land.

It all depends on the dice: Don't hold out on buying properties in the hopes that you'll get "the most hit" properties. :)

  6. The Orange, St. James, Tennessee, New York.  People coming out of jail will land with a 6, 7, or 9, a 40% chance.

The last game I played I gave 6 properties, including Boardwalk, a Railroad and Marvin Gardens to a player who had Park Place, the other 2 Yellows, and 2 Railroads, all for 1 orange.  With only the orange I beat them handily.

  7. I nearly always land on yellow/orange most.  I bypass whole chunks of property, but I always land on yellow/orange most.  As far as the property that gets landed on the most, no idea.  But the square would be that luxury tax right before you hit go for sure.  That square's evil.

  8. The Railroads are the group that is landed on most frequently - each trip around the board a player has about a 66% chance of hitting one of them - the three cards that send players to the railroads help out a great deal.

As for the color groups. the Oranges are the most frequently landed on - a player has about a 50% chance of hitting that group each turn around the board.

On the other end of the spectrum, the least likely property groups are the Dark Blues (28%) and Dark Purples (25%) - they only have two properties in the group so that really works against them.

  9. Purple in my opinion, well it happens to me all the time.

  10. THE BLUEEEEE

  11. i say go because you have to start from and it seem like you land on it all the time

  12. BLUE AND PURPLE FOR ME DEFINATLY

    HAPPY GAMING

  13. I always own all the blue, but maybe it won't work for you.

  14. The most landed-on property in Monopoly is Illinois Avenue (followed by B&O Railroad and Go, respectively), and the red or purple are the most landed-on colors.

  15. I believe the red and the green get landed on the most. I used to play every Saturday night with my family total of 8 of us. It usually is the red and the green sometimes the light blue.

  16. they say it is the last red place that gets landed on the most.

  17. The red group (Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois) gets landed on the most (8.76%).  Orange (St. James, Tennessee, New York) is second with 8.47%.

Illinois is landed on the most, 3.19% of the time.

  18. purple or blue depends on how you play

  19. state st
