if you're asking what i think you're asking i'll talk you through them. i'll give 'em a go...

3-4z = -5+8z             put the z's on the same side.

3 = -5+12z                plus 5

8=12z                       so z = 8/12 = 2/3

5/2 - x(x+1) = x(2-x)      multiply out of the brackets

5/2 - x^2 -x = 2x -x^2     plus x^2

5/2 - x = 2x                   plus x

5/2 = 3x                        multiply by 2

5 = 6x                         so x = 5/6

7x-29 - 21x = 3-(12+2x)     combine the x's on the left and expand brackets

-14x - 29 = 3 -12 - 2x       plus 14x

-29 = -9 +12x                  plus 9

-20 = 12x                    so x = -20/12 = -5/3

9x/3 + 11x = 28            simplify

3x + 11x = 28               combine x's

14x = 28                   so x = 28/14 = 2

x/2 + x/4 = 5              x/2 is the same as 2x/4

2x/4 + x/4 = 5             add the fractions

3x/4 = 5                      multiply by 4

3x = 20                        so x = 20/3 or 6 and 2/3
