Question:

MOSQUITOS--repellent not working!! Help!?

I have tried so many over the counter repellents and none are working! I was outside the other day with a short sleeve top and knee length skirt and I had put repellent on, but I still got 25 bites in about five minutes just sitting on my porch. I cannot even walk outside to take out the trash without getting a bite, but they don't even touch my boyfriend! Any ideas on good repellents? I had been using OFF and Cutter Advanced, and and sometimes an herbal spray with citronella and and citrus but none worked. Anybody know of any good ones, hopefully one that is not all sticky on the skin so that you feel like you need a shower after you use it?

  1. Someone just told me that "Listerene" mouthwash works to keep

your local neighborhood "air force" from attacking !

( ...rubbing it onto you, not gargling it :)

Let us know if this works for you, thanks...

  2. Backwoods off works pretty good, look to see the Deet %. You can get a good yard spray that hooks onto your garden hose and treat your yard, bushes and low trees, this will help a lot.

  3. try using skin so soft thats what i use!

  4. look at the DEET content. The higher the DEET content the better the spray works.

  5. If you are sitting on your porch Listerine Mouthwash works good.  Spray underneath your chair and around you.  This worked good for me.  As for outside working in the yard a bounce laundry sheet with scent in it.  Rub your exposed skin with it and put the sheet in your pocket, pant or shirt.  That also worked for me.  Its worth a try.
