  1. You dont need any documents to get your car MOT

    you need - insurance , MOT and log book to get your car Taxed (do it online its much easier - www.dvla.co.uk)

  2. You do not need any documents when getting your vehicle MOT'd.

    When taxing your vehilce you need the MOT; your insurance certificate for that vehicle and the appropriate tax form filled out, alongwith payment.

    You can also tax your vehicle online - your insurance and MOT details will be held on a database, so you won't need them in your hand, only the tax reminder form and a credit / debit card.

    This is info for England.

  3. do tax over net,.,,easier.,,.n mot no they should have it on record..they look at the data base

  4. dont think need documents to mot a car but to get tax need a mot cert and insurance papers

  5. No documents just book it in and there you go

  6. If this is the first time you have had your car MOT'd under the new computer system then you need to take your registration documents with you.

  7. If your car is already on the DVLA MOT database, which it should be as the database is over 12 months old now, you don't need any docs as they will automatically date the new MOT from the expiry date of the old one.

    For tax, as said previously, you need the renewal notice, MOT, insurance certificate and the payment.  If done online, the MOT & Insurance will be checked automatically and you use the reference number from the renewal notice and a payment method.

  8. You need nothing for an MOT but need your insurance cert. and MOT cert. when applying for road tax. If you do it over the 'phone that is checked automatically for you. I did mine by 'phone and I got the new disc in 4 days!  Well done DVLA.........

  9. You should take your old one with you,Just tell them you cannot find it.Road tax  A new mot cortificate ,Isurance document,Road tax reminder letter and money.

  10. You don't need any paperwork prior to an MOT - the system is computerised, so if a current MOT exists, the garage will already know, and if necessary, they'll run your new one consecutively after the end date of the prior one.

    To get road tax in person at a post ofice, you'll need an MOT, a certificate of insurance or cover note, payment, and a renewal notice (V11) which should have been sent to you, or an application for vehicle tax (V10) from the post office or here;

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Own...

    You'll also need your registration document (V5) or new keeper's supplement. If you don't have either of these, use the V62 form on the above page to apply for a registration document in your name.

    Alternatively, you can tax your vehicle online, but ONLY if the vehicle is registered to your current address & you have a V5. See here;
