What would you do if your 17 year old daughter got her face pierced?

What would your opinion be if she told you she wanted to?

  1. If she was still at home, she would be removing it.

If she told me she wanted to, I would tell her to wait until she becomes an adult.

  2. I'd sign the consent form and tell her to have fun.

  3. tell her no.

your the parent, be strong and help to choose to make the best decision in life...

honestly, when you see people with face piercings what to you think? what does everyone else think? don't let her go through that phase... because she'll more than likely regret it.

be strict, but also be understanding and use this time to bond with her, understand her, and be there for her. not as a "friend" but as a good mother.

  4. If I came home with my face pierced I would find myself with my butt burned. You might find some suggestions on these forums

  5. I get the feeling you're meaning a specific part of her face, such as nose, lip, or eyebrow.

I'd allow the nose or eyebrow; not the lip... They can do that, once they're 18.

I pierced my own eyebrow when I was 27 (I'm 30, now), and once I got tired of it, I simply removed it... A slight scar, and that's it. :)

  6. Kid are only kids once, let her have fun while she is young, it won't last long, most places when it comes to work make them remove it and trust me she would rather leave it out then having to put it in and out all the time. It is just a phase.

  7. I agree with bette...My house, My rules. Children...sigh....Has she told you but Mom.....Jane Doe has hers pierced and her mom says its her choice! Good Luck.....

  8. If that's the worst thing she wants to do, then I say go for it.  The hole will grow up if she decides she doesn't like it later, right?  Unlike a tatoo that's permanent...Besides, it's about the only time in her life that she can wear a face piercing and not look totally ridiculous!

  9. When h**l freezes over and I can ice skate on the Fiery Pit!

  10. If it was a really tiny stud and on the side of her nose i would say hey that looks pretty ok lets go for it.  I have seen some ugly ones like when girls have their nose pierced and they end up with the bull ring aroung the center of the nose. Don't know what would possess any girl to think that looks attractive.  On the tongue definitely NOT.  On the lip no.  On the brows, I would be hesitant.

Ask her what she wants and how many she's aiming to get.  Tell her your honest opinion and try not to get stressed out about it.  If they get a straight out no without reasoning they might just do it and lots of it too, just to remind you who's in charge.  rebels that they can be.

  11. kids will do the opposite of what you say ...

Teenagers , they just want to  push boundaries.

better to just say  " ok, but beware of the consequences ..... you know how it will hurt and how ugly it can get if infection sets in.  etc etc ....  "

  12. MY husband said that he would tell our daughters that "Just remember now you have a permanent hole in your head that was not given to you at birth"

My reaction would be..."What were you thinkin...if that gets infected you are gonna be in a world of hurt!"

I got my tongue pierced at 16 and it has made a permanent dent in the roof of my mouth...I also had my lip pierced but had to take it out because it was uncomfortable(waste of pain and money right there)

All in all I would not be pissed about it seeing as I did it myself and I do think its way better for that to happen rather than to find out my girls were doin drugs or something like that, but I would be disappointed because there are just too many risks in getting ANYTHING pierced anymore and I don't want to see my girls get an infection at the piercing site! Especially if its on their faces! And if they asked me then I would tell them that I am NOT signing for it,and if they want it that bad they can wait til they turn 18 and get it done without my consent and pay for it themselves! I won't pay for my daughters to pierce their faces up
