I bloody well hope not.

If Dorna introduce a wet bag idea like this, it will ruin MotoGP forever.

It will be Bridgestone who get the the contract.

What next, fcuking road tyres like the WSS ?

This : http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_news.htm?menu=news is the worst news ever to hit.

I hope Ezpeleta can sleep at night. Im sure he can with all the money he is been paid by Bridgestone to do this deal.

Whats your thoughts on the W.S.B Championship .................... sorry MOTOGP ?

  1. Evening Wiggy-hon,

I'm sure (even with my memory) that only a week or so back, there was a quote saying that nothing will be changed for the 2008 season.

I think the man is show boating and want's people to think he's open to change and listening to public opinion - tyre choice has probably been the most consistently talked about aspect of this season - and in a year which launched a completely new bike (well 800cc - mostly new I guess)

I think this is a clever bit of mis-information and will give everyone a chance to "S**t or get off the pot" as we say round here. They (Michelin especially) will have to either put their hands in the air and give up or get on with developing better rubber - kind of a "put up or shut up" situation he has now placed the manufacturers (and riders) in. Smart thinking!

I do think Julian Ryder has hit the nail on the head when he said it is just a distraction from the racing.

Like you Wiggy, I think a one tyre rule would be disasterous - this is supposed to be the cutting edge of motorsport, not pop down your local bike shop and buy a set tomorrow! You need more companies involved in development, not less!

  2. What about solid tyres?  Add one make of engine, (Briggs & Stratton), one cylinder side valve, one Lodge sparking plug, castor oil lubricant, girder forks, solid rear end, belt drive, one speed...now that would make it fair for all, wouldn't it?....but maybe rather unprofitable and dull..

  3. I've always said that I know nothing about tyres but while the race today the Eurosport guys said that actually Rossi and Pedrosa were the one who wanted one type of tyres for everyone. I kind of understand them. Because of Michelin they weren't able to win a few races but it is also true that Michelin helped them a lot! Like today... Michelin if you ask me were better in the beginning...

I don't want MotoGP to turn into W.S.B. but who knows what is going to happen, so be more optimistic ;)

  4. Toby and Julian hit it on the head. even the tyre company loses out because there will be no need to mention them . whomever they are. I think that in racing the more variables there are the better. it makes everybody work for it.
