I am looking into getting a Hyosung, either 250r or 650r. For this question i just want to get an idea of how much gas getting a 250 would save over a 650 or if it would be negligible

(yeah i know there are a lot of other factors for the bike, I just want to know about gas mileage at the moment though)

  1. You will probably get 60 mpg with a 250 and about 50 mpg with a 650. For the record, you wouldn't catch me riding a 250 anything on the street.

  2. 60-70 for the 250 and 50 for the 650. By the way the guy that said he had ninja 250R. The GT250 will run with it and own it in corners. I work on them and seldom do anything more than oil changes and valve adjustments. To find out a lot more go to .

It is a forum for owners and riders of these fine motorcycles.

  3. the bigger the engine is the more gas it will take to run it.

  4. I rode a Hyosung GT 250 for just over a year and then upgraded to a GT 650R one year ago.  I've tracked my fuel consumption for both bikes and here's what I found.

    Hyosung GT 250

    1 Tank (19.5L) 320km  - Normal driving conditions (16.41 km per liter / 38mpg)

    1 Tank (19.5L) 340km - Highway driving (17.43 km per liter / 41mpg)

    Hyosung GT 650R

    1 Tank (17L) 221km  - Normal driving conditions (13 km per liter / 31mpg)

    1 Tank (17L) 250km - Highway driving (16.6 km per liter / 39mpg)

The 650 definitely burns trough a lot more gas, especially in the city.  My overall average is 14.64km per liter on this bike (average over 1 year / 27 fills).  One thing that concerns me, my fuel efficiency has dropped over the course of the year.  I'm guessing it has to do with my carbs needing some adjusting and my riding the bike much harder.

    Cheers

  5. around 50-70 with the 250 and around 40-60 with the 650.

If you want my opinion don't get either bike, get a kawasaki ninja 250 or 650. They are more reliable and better made than the hyosungs.
