MS Access - how to datestamp new entries?

I have a form and whenever I create a new record I want to record the date and time that record was created. Now if I happen to edit the record at any time, I want iti to still keep the date and time it was created and hence notmodify it. I am having a tough time acheiving this even though I have. Please help.

  1. when you insert the timestamp it will stick with the record.


  2. In the table that stores the data for that form, enter =Date() as Default Value for the DateStamp field, in the design view for that table

    That way the date (and time) is automatically ented when a new record is created
