The Indian skipper MS Dhoni has lauded the impressive comeback of the experienced fast bowler Zaheer Khan after the team defeated the hosts by 87 runs at Durban.
After rather an embarrassing defeat in the first match at Centurion, Zaheer had been badly missed by the team. After making his comeback, the fast bowler contributed well into paving the way to success for his side in the second Test match.
After bagging the second Test match, and while sharing his views at the presentation ceremony, the Indian skipper Dhoni said that they had made a good come back as far as the batting was concerned, but before entering into the match they had fears about
who was going to take the uphill responsibility of taking 20 wickets. However, he was happy over the way his bowlers had performed.
Talking about the performance displayed by Zaheer Khan, the skipper said, “I have always maintained that Zaheer has been the best fast bowler that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 have had in recent times. He has the ability to execute his plans well. Even if his primary plan doesn’t
work out, he has a Plan B ready. Also him being around, even the other bowlers get a lot of help.”
Dhoni offered similar and full of appreciation words for the senior bowler Harbhajan Singh. He admitted the fact that the spinner had been a great performer for the team for last ten years or so. For him, it was always good to have Harbhajan in the team,
in the second test match; by bowling long spells, the spinner had extended immense support to the fast bowlers from the second end.
Talking about the pitch and the performance of his batsmen, the Indian captain said, “The wicket didn’t misbehave on the first day as we thought it would before the match. I felt that 200-odd was a decent score. After we got 70 plus lead, I was confident
of doing well. Obviously we need to improve on our second innings batting. We would like to improve further and win the Test match at Cape Town.”
Sharing about the way Indian squad was going to celebrate the New Year, the skipper revealed that they were going to shop a lot and to have a party at the night.
Sharing his views while called upon the stage, Graeme Smith, the captain for team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 gracefully admitted that his rivals had displayed appreciable performance and thus they deserved to be the winner of the match.
