MS Dhoni admits failure to acclimatize with Australian conditions - Cricket News Update
The beleaguered Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, on Sunday admitted that his side failed to adapt to Australian conditions and consequently failed to put a halt to the hosts’ blitz in the ongoing four-match Tests series, which the Indians presently
trail 0-3.
Dhoni’s confession came after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 once again failed to score as the hosts sealed the deal in their way in
just two and a half days to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the four-match series.
Dhoni also blamed his batsmen for the poor batting show, and said that if the batsmen had played well, things would have been different.
"We have not performed well throughout this series,” said the soft spoken MS Dhoni at the post-match presentation ceremony. “We could only say that the batting made the difference. We could have scored enough runs in the second innings. The failure in the
batting line-up is something that is hurting us," he added dejectedly.
Dhoni praised the bowlers for an improved show at Perth and urged the batsmen to show some responsibility and put some score on the board to defend in the last Test of the series to be played at Adelaide Oval next week.
"It has been a tough series. We have not batted to the kind of potential we have,” said the Indian skipper who has been under fire for his defensive captaincy tactics since the Boxing Day Test defeat.
“We definitely look to do well in the batting department in Adelaide (venue for the fourth Test). Our bowlers have shown that they are capable of taking wickets, it's just that we need to put some runs on the board."
Dhoni also praised the belligerent Australian opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Graham-Downton-c44379 Cowan, to put the hosts on their way to series clinching innings win.
He was adjudged man of the match.
Fourth and the final Test of series begins at Adelaide Oval on January 24.
