"At times in these low scoring matches, you need to play boring cricket. It doesn't matter whether you win in the 48th or 49th over," said the Indian captain. “It was an interesting match where frankly speaking we were not in a
good position. I wanted the tail-enders to stay as long as possible which would have given me a chance."
He scored 45 runs off 52 balls in which he smashed five boundaries and a couple of massive hits out of the park. The 32-year-old cricketer was named as the Player of the Match for his stunning cameo.
India’s captain understands that it was a risk to play with the hamstring injury but revealed that he decided to take the gamble because he does not have to play any competitive cricket in the next couple of months.
"Sometimes you don't really wait to be 100 hundred percent fit. The problem with hammy injury is that there is a chance of re-occurrence. Since it was the final and we have two months off after this, I thought about taking the
risk," Dhoni added.
The wicketkeeper/batsman has been rested for the upcoming tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737 handed over the captaincy for the short tour.
