MS Dhoni eager to start 2012 season positively – Cricket News Update
After concluding the 2011 season on a not so encouraging note, the Indian skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 is eyeing a triumphant start to the 2012 season, beginning with limited-overs away series against Sri Lanka this month.
“Our cricket season has started and we want to play best for our country's image. We want to start the season well,” said Dhoni at a short press conference in Chennai, on Tuesday, ahead of India’s departure.
“The conditions in Sri Lanka are not too different. Certain things change but the pattern of cricket remains the same,” he added further.
The reigning World Champions have not played International cricket in more than three months, though they played in the fifth edition of Indian Premier League, in April-May. There last international assignment was the quadrangular Asia

On the other side of the coin, Sri Lanka go into the series at the back of recent ODI and Test series wins over Pakistan. Dhoni, however, is not reading too much into the pre-series statistics and is optimistic about the chances of
his side, refreshed after a lengthy off-season.

The first ODI is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, at Hambantota.
