MS Dhoni keen to lead http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 to victories overseas – Cricket News Update
Indian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, is eager to capacitate the Men in Blue to win tough overseas series in order to become an invincible team and nullify the common perception that India only wins at home grounds.
Mahi claimed that as captain it is a challenge for him to help his batsmen adapt to the different conditions outside India, and to prepare his players for bouncy tracks, as coping with bounce has been a weakness of the team.
Speaking to the media today, the captain said, “Consistently performing well on overseas tours is something we are aiming for and as captain I see it as a challenge. While we have done well in certain series, we have been poor on tours this year so we need
to prepare in a fashion that will provide us with the best chance of winning the series."
The Indians are known for their inability to play well on the grassy tops of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, failing to deliver in these countries. On the other hand, they are a formidable team to beat on the dry and flat wickets of Subcontinent, and
usually triumph against visiting teams.
The biggest example of this failure was seen on their recent tour to England in July-August 2011, as they lost all the matches played during the series and, resultantly, lost the top Test rank which they had gained in 2009.
The Blue Shirts are in Australia now-a-days to play a series of 4 Test matches, and some cricket analysts are already predicting a repeat of the England misadventure Down Under.
However, Dhoni does not agree with this perception, and has said that the players at his disposal for the tour of Australia include players who have already demonstrated through their performances on the Oz soil that they can cope and has backed them do
it again this time. The skipper is optimistic that his team can win despite all odds.
He said, “We are always under pressure so we don't really think about the tag. If you see the batting line-up that we've got, it's not the first time that they will be touring Australia and it's not the first time they will be playing at the venue. We are
very optimistic that we will do well in the test match."
