Chennai Super Kings’ thrilling victory over Cape Cobras was an example of complementing each other, which has always been a key feature of every good cricket team.
While the skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, lavished praise on Dwayne Bravo for smashing a match-inning innings, the Caribbean all-rounder credited the Indian wicket-keeper for his blistering knock.
Bravo admitted that Dhoni was the man who gave him confidence to play a match-winning innings. In a crucial match of the Champions League Twenty20 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, the Super Kings thrashed South African side, Cape
Cobras, by four wickets.
Chasing the target of 146, Bravo hit a brutal innings of 46 runs off just 25 balls and helped his side register their first win in the tournament. He meanwhile, shared an excellent 42-run-partnerhip with Dhoni, who added 15 runs to the total.
Talking about his outstanding display of skills, Bravo thanked his captain for showing him the way at the wicket.
"You must give credit to MS (Dhoni) because he really showed the way as how to go about in this wicket, placing the ball in the gaps, and running a lot of singles and twos. It was unfortunate he got out but by that time we knew we had a realistic chance
of winning the match," said Bravo who preferred his IPL outfit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472o his home side, T&T, in the CL T20.
A lot of questions were raised over the Chennai wicket earlier in the tournament, as the track was considered too slow for the shortest version of the game. The West Indian cricketer however, defended the behaviour of the pitch despite conceding that it
is not an easy track to bat freely.
He argued that since it is a newly-prepared track, the teams will take some time to adapt to the conditions.
"The pitch is re-laid and we are only getting used to it, but as the tournament progresses teams will get accustomed to it," insisted the 27-year-old all-rounder who holds a superb strike rate of 123.29 in T20 internationals.
