team’s fast bowlers operate.
After India’s dismal performance in Test cricket against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 announced their retirement from international cricket this year.
Apart from being brilliant batsmen, the two cricketers were extra-ordinary slip fielders, which is always crucial in a team’s success in the game’s longer version.
Standing at slips is considered to be the most challenging job in the field because there is not much time to react and excellent reflexes are required to excel in this position.
The wicketkeeper/batsman is of the view that slip fielding should not be an issue because Kohli, Raina and Sehwag have had experience with it.
"We have Virat [Kohli], [Suresh] Raina and we already have [Virender] Sehwag there, he will most likely stand in at first slip. I don't think we will be short of fielders who field at slips," thinks Dhoni.
The Indian skipper however, admitted that Dravid will be missed while the spinners are in operation but hopes that the new guys will be able to raise their game.
He mentioned, "Spinners can be a bit of an issue because it will be challenging especially when there is bounce. We may miss Rahul bhai over there, but let's just look ahead and give youngsters a chance and one of them may
take some catches."
With 210 dismissals, Dravid holds the world record for most number of catches in the game’s history. Laxman on the other hand, also has 135 catches under his belt, and was considered to be among the world’s best slip fielders with
very soft hands.
India’s fielding in the outfield however, will be enhanced with the inclusion of some budding cricketers like Raina and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CA-Pujara-c1209. The former is considered to be the country’s best fielder in coloured kits.
