Indian skipper Mahendra Singh assured fans that the plan to reclaim the Test No. 1 rank is on, as they gear up to take on England in a four-match Test series at home.
Dhoni guided the Men in Blue to the top of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 with the same margin, in January this year.
However, the Ranchi wicketkeeper batsman, on Wednesday assured that they intend to get back to the top in Test cricket.
“That plan is always on,” said the Indian skipper when asked about reclaiming the No. 1 spot. “Whatever format you play in the sport, you always want to be No 1. It's a slow constant process that we are subjected to,” the hard-hitting middle order batsman went on to add.
Currently the top spot on ICC’s Test rankings is held by the rampaging South Africans, who dethroned England as the world’s best Test side in August this year, with a 2-0 series win.
The enthralling four-match series between hosts India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 series, the home skipper said that it would be an interesting one.
"It will be an interesting one. If you see the England side, they are a very good side but it is important to focus on our strength and weaknesses. We also need to improve over a period of time," stated Dhoni, who was appointed as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s full time Test skipper in November 2008.
Indian cricket team is scheduled to attend a short training camp in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 ahead of the opening Test, and Dhoni said that after playing a lot of T20 cricket over the last two months, the short camp will help players get into the groove.
"We are reporting in a couple of days. We have a few practice matches before we get into the team," Dhoni said.
