MS Dhoni wants his part-time bowlers to contribute – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2012, which starts
on September 18th in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The Men in Blue, under the wicketkeeper batsman’s leadership, won the inaugural edition of the illustrious tournament, played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in 2007. However, they failed to maintain their performance and could not make an impression in the next two tournaments
in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 respectively.
Having performed exceptionally well in the limited-over series against Sri Lanka recently, India’s morale is extremely high, and are considered to be among the tournament’s favourites.
In the presence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364, India possesses one of the world’s finest batting line-ups. Their bowling however, has been found wanting in the recent past.
In order to make up for a weak bowling attack, Dhoni wants his batsmen to contribute with the ball as well and thinks that the likes of Yuvraj, Raina, Kohli and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RG-Sharma-c2309 can do the job for their side.
"We are a team who rely strongly on batting. But some of the top batsmen play the role of part-timers," the captain said. "In T20 cricket, part-timers are very important. Our part-timers have been doing well. Yuvraj [Singh] is one and we have Virat Kohli,
Rohit Sharma, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539. They will chip in an over each and that makes it a lot easier for us."
There has been some criticism on Yuvraj’s comeback in the team, with some former cricketers believing that the all-rounder should have been given more time to regain match-fitness. The Indian captain however, is confident about the hard-hitting batsman’s
abilities and thinks that he is going to play a vital role in the mega event.
"I am happy that he is in the team as he is a champion player and a match-winner. He also brings a balance in the team as in T20 cricket you don't include a fifth bowler," Dhoni mentioned.
