Indian captain, MS Dhoni is looking forward to the Sri Lankan series as a litmus test to determine how well they fare in the upcoming long season featuring major tournaments and Test series.
The Men in Blue reached Colombo to start their season with a five-match One Day International (ODI) series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, starting from July 21.
India had a poor last season where they suffered whitewashes at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 while also failed to make it to the finals of the CB series in Australia and the Asia Cup 2012.
For the 31-year-old captain, there are many grey areas, and while the Indian batting had a mixed outing in the last season, it was their bowling which repeatedly let them down in all formats.

The series in Sri Lanka will allow the Men in Blue to have a much-needed match practice as well as to acclimatize with the Lankan conditions before the start of the T20 World Cup.
"A good thing is most of the players who are part of this side will also be part of the Twenty20 side. We don't really need to think ahead of time."
“The good thing is the energy level is up, which means we can put in a bit more effort in the physical department and do a bit more active sports work," the Indian Captain said.
