MSI K9N6GM MotherBoard Install

I just installed an MSI K9N6GM motherboard with a barebones kit. I have 2Gig Memory on the board. I have an AMD Athlon 64 3500 CPU which came with the kit and I purchased and installed a heatsink FAN. My CPU temperature is never reaching above 27 degrees. But the computer will suddenly turn off and the power LED blinks.
