Do I need to download a specific MSN Messenger and Itunes for Linux?

I recently got a EeePC with Linux, and I would like to install both of which on it.

  1. You'll need to install KMess for Messenger:

    http://kmess.org/

and Amarok may be the closest thing to iTunes:

    http://amarok.kde.org/

  2. MSN MESSENGER:  In short, you can't install MSN Messenger itself without Wine (program that allows you to run Windows programs) or an emulator. However, there are a some better alternatives to that for linux.

Pidgin is your best bet, and it integrates every other major IM provider as well, and gives you the option to integrate with your email, facebook, and more. It's native to linux.

Meebo is an online program that allows you to access IM features without a program installed. It's accessible from linux.

Apparently, kmess (http://kmess.org/) does MSN Messenger for linux, but I'd go with one of the two above.

iTUNES: Once again, you can use Wine to run iTunes if you want the hassle. It works well, although there are limitations.

A better alternative might be to use a different program like iPod-Linux (http://ipodlinuxinstl.sourceforge.net/in... to sync your iPod and manage your library/playlists.
