MSN Problem: Unable to delete unwanted contacts... help!?

Okay, I've had this problem with me for a while now that I had to just get used to it... but I guess I need something done regarding the looong list of contacts I have.

Y'see, I've once become a forum user a long time ago and got loads of user's IM contacts. When I got a phone with MSN features, I decided to delete most of the unnecessary contacts I wasn't talking to most of the time. when I log in on my mac though, the same contacts are there, and no matter how hard I try to delete one of them, I keep getting the message 'the server was unable to remove the user "*****" from your contact list. Please try again", which results in the user I want rid of blocked, but still visible.

I even tried to delete my IM and redownload it to remove the problem, yet the problem stays.

Please help! As of deciding months later, it would be a great deal for me to eliminate this annoyance once and for all if there was any real solution.
