MSN offline/appear online delay?

Question

I was wondering whether its possible for there to be a delay between someone logging off and them appearing offline in your contact list. Ie, they're offline, but look on-line. Also if its possible, what would happen to the message? Would it just be discared, or would it be sent to them when they were online again?

Yes, MSN may sometimes does delay I assume, but your message will still be sent when the sign back on. :D If not, it would give you an error message.
