  1. The taxes, if you have any in your state, are easy to figure out, but you need to know your state's tax rate. Licensing a bike is pretty cheap, again depends on the state. Some dealers charge delivery and setup, some do not. That's a popular bike and you may have trouble getting a discount, but you should try anyway. You know the 2009 250s are coming out in a few months. If you can wait, you should. I myself can never wait. Great bike. Have fun.

  2. The 2008 Ninja 250R are in high demand right now.  The msrp is $3500, but because people are buying them up, the dealers are upping the prices.  Supply and demand.

Anyway, when they first came out last year, otd (out-the-door) pricing was about $3800 - $3900.  If you buy one now, you'll probably be looking at $4200 - $5000 depending on where you live.

I live in VA Beach and I was interested in getting one in June of this year, I was quoted at $4300 otd price.  I just bought a 2007 Ninja 250 instead because it's my first bike and I needed to learn first.  I"ll wait until the price returns to normal to get an 2008 or better in the future.
