MSV Duisburg sign Valeri Domovchiyski from Hertha BSC – Bundesliga News
2. Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg are determined to strengthen their squad for the upcoming 2011/12 season and have acquired the services of striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valeri-Domovchiyski-c35854, from Hertha BSC. The Bulgarian wasn’t up to his level best during the recently concluded
2010/11 campaign but his passion and desire forced Duisburg officials to strike a bid for the youngster.
The Zebras finished the previous season eighth on the table and have been active participants in the transfer market since then. Club’s chairman, Dieter Steffen, confirmed the signing of the youngster from the Blue-Whites and hoped that the 24-year-old won’t
take long in justifying his selection in front of the home fans. He also hinted to other recruitments that the club is planning to make during this summer transfer window.
The striker also seemed ecstatic at this move and believed he could get more first team chances while playing for Duisburg then he did for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hertha-BSC-c39521. He expressed disappointment for not getting enough chances at his former club and also criticized the manager,
Markus Babbel, whom he believed was always reluctant to include him in the final line-up. Domovchiyski was all praise for Duisburg and felt that the club did extremely well to reach the finals of the DFB-Pokal in the presence of some top outfits.
Valeri started his playing career with a Bulgarian based club, FC Maritsa Plovdiv, and then made his way to Levski Sofia in 2004. During his four-year stay at the club, the striker amassed 42 goals from just 69 games before being loaned out to Hertha BSC
in 2008. During the same year he became a permanent member of the club and managed 61 appearances in three years before finalizing a move to MSV Duisburg. He netted in eight goals during his stay. which he has two goals since making his debut in 2006.
Duisburg manager, Milan Sasic, wished Valeri all the very best for his future with the club but refrained from giving any comments whether the striker would immediately become a first team player or not.
