MTG questions?

I've got a few questions about the game:

can you block with a creature if you placed it on the field at the turn of your opponent (o.a. i place glory seeker and tap two lands, because of summoning sickness i can't attack. I end my turn, my opponent has a Oona's Blackguard and attacks with it, can i block his creature with my glory seeker?)

A creature spell, that's when a creature comes into play right?

may have more questions later ^^

  1. Well you got the blocking part right. The only mistake you make there is that oona's blackguard flies and glory seeker doesn't fly (so glory seeker can not block a flier - however it can block any other creature without flying).

Any non land card is considered a spell. They are spells when they are on the stack (means they are being played but not resolved yet). When a creature comes into play is no longer a spell but a permanent. The kind of permanents are:

lands, creatures, enchantments, artefacts (and combinations: creature artifact, creature enchantment, etc).

    Hope this helps

  2. 1) Creatures can block when they come into play.  Summoning sickness only stops them from attacking and tapping for an ability that requires them to tap.  If something says "tap an untapped creature" then they can be tapped for that.

    2) Anything that comes from your hand, except land, is a spell.  It stops being a spell when it resolves and hits play.
