MTX 8500 12" v.s. Power Acoustik Fubar 12"....whick sub is the better choice?

Question

I currently have 2 12" 1800 watt (800Rms) power acoustik fubar subs and was lookin to upgrade and was wondering if the mtx 8500 (500rms) would be a good choice to increase my bass. I drive a small suv and have a 1200 watt amp on my subs (200rms). I wanted to get the mxt 9500 but im not willing to spend that much. What should i do, get a bigger amp to push the power acoustik subs or upgrade to the mtx 8500 (that is with a new amp to push it also).

i had the same 2 power acoustik subs there were peaces of **** i blew one and both of them only had 600 rms going to them i ended changing to 2 jbl p1222 subs witch were only 400 rms each and got a new amp that was 800 rms and i love my system now its about 9 times louder then the power acoustik set up them mtx subs will slam if you get the right amp if you got just 1 of the 9500 mtx subs it might be louder then 2 of the 8500s if you get a good box i know someone that just sold a 9500 with a probox for 200 you just gotta keep an eye out and meet the right people

well first off if u only have 200 rms coming out of ur amp, then the subs u got arent getting hardly no power...get a bigger amp for the subs u got and match the rms of the subs to the amp at proper ohm level and those subs u might not have to upgrade...i prefer pioneer premier subs over mtx and power acoustic anyday...good luck

These two shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.  Just curious as to what you have now because the Fubar's probably aren't even an upgrade.  The MTX 8500's are nice subs.  Give a pair a good 1000W RMS and it'll rock your ride.

the two 8500's would rattle your suv and other peoples car. They run a lot better than the power acoustiks because they underrate their subs. You can power the 8500's to at least 600w rms on a daily use and nothing bad will happen. They can stand the power and beat down that any amp can throw at them. surprisingly, the 8500 and 9500 jump hundreds of dollars compared to the 4500-7500 types. They are crazy, and two 8500's will beat a 9500 anyday.
