My child is 2 1/2 and has had the diarrhea off and on since June. June It looked like it had white rice size worms in it it was NOT worms. His white blood cell came back a little high in his stool. He has had off and on diarrhea since then some look mucusy. Two Fridays ago he had an episode that white watery substance came out followed by white foam. Since Thursday he has had diarrhea straight up to 15 times a day with bad cramping. I have taken him to his dr and er NUMEROUS times and they think it could be Toddlers diarrhea http://pedclerk.bsd.uchicago.edu/toddlerDiarrhea.html

Yesterday we drove 4 hours to children's mercy hospital to see what they thought and they said they don't know but it fit Toddlers Diarrhea. My child's abdominal pain is getting worse ,crying shaking while going to the bathroom and stays up for hours in the middle of the night. My child is not dehydrated or loosing any weight.I have taken my child to the dr/ and or er 5 times since friday. Please help any suggestions what’s wrong. This is not a joke Please help

  1. Is he keeping food down?

He may have eaten something that has blocked his digestive tract.  Have them run x-rays or a CT on his abdomen.  Kids eat weird things.

How is the stress level in the house?  Lots of mum and dad fighting episodes?  Do you get sick a lot?  Kids react in varied ways to familial stress.  You could try some simple breathing exercises like in count to five, out count to 5.  Do it with him.

You stressing over him being sick can double his stress.  Try to not let him see you anything but calm and collected.  If you're going to lose it, get hubby or someone else to watch him while you go somewhere else to let it all out.  The less everyone around him is visibly stressed, the less he'll react to the stress.

Keep breathing and keep working with the doctors.  Good luck

  2. I am not a medical expert but this doesn't sound normal at all - as you know! Keep pushing the docs - you need answers x
