  1. Let him wear deodorant.  My 6 year old thinks its cool that he gets to wear the same brand as daddy.  I doubt that there is anything wrong with him, may be just be developing sooner than other boys.

  2. first try getting him to wash them very well while in the shower and then put on deoderant when he gets out. if that doesn't work, ask a doctor.

  3. The hormones in the milk he drinks are making the sweat glands work overtime. The milk from Walmart brand is the worst. Stop milk for now. Make sure he takes a bath or shower everyday and make sure he uses soap. Some kids think just dipping into water is a bath.

  4. have him tested for the gluten allergy, this is a sympton. i used to babysit a little boy with this symtom and we found out it was because he was alergic to gluton (wheat)

  5. well, i dont think its normal.. but i dont think its something to call the hospital for. make an appt. with his doc and discuss this with him. in the mean time, dont use deoderant on a 5 yr old. i suggest baking soda. it is good for the skin and sucks up bad smells. just get him to put some in the palm of his hand and put it under his arms when theyre sweating or after his bath maybe. not harmful and has no smell.

  6. He is human, and yes, I would say this is perfectly normal.

I was the stinky kid in school, so I know where you are coming from.  I was wearing deodorant in Kindergarten.

    Nothing to worry about.

    I hope this helps...

    Take Care,

  7. As several others have said, please do not apply deodorant to a 5 year old.  There are a few things you doctor may ask you about.

    1) Is he drinking enough water?  Giving him more fluids may help his body cleanse itself better.

    2) Is there anything in his diet that would get extruded through his skin?  Diets high in aromatics, like garlic, onion, curries and other strong flavors can be detected through sweat.

    3) How often does he bathe?  If the smell only comes after an afternoon of play in the hot sun, you may be able to give him a quick wash and take care of the problem.  If the scent is always there, even after washing however, it may be a sign of an underlying allergy or food sensitivity.

Good luck with it.  Best to you and your family.

  8. That sounds strange for a 5 year old, maybe you should ask the doctor or just buy him some deodorant.

  9. he'll just have to start using geodorant a little early

is he taking his bath regularly?

  10. no thats kinda werid ask the doctor

  11. my son is 5, and boys do tend to play actively, running, jumping, kicking ball etc...so they sweat a lot.  sometimes, one bath/shower a day isn't enough to keep them clean, especially in hot and humid weather.  sometimes i have to wash my son 3 times a day.  although i feel his arms sticky, and i can smell his head and body of sweat, his underarms never smell bad (like an adult's).  maybe you need to give him more frequent showers.

  12. don't listen to these people telling you to put deodorant on a 5 yr old. please dont do that! deodorant is a harsh chemical that should not be put on a young childs body.

also, you don't want to give him a self esteem complex. you wouldn't shave the legs of a hairy 5 yr girl would you?

let him be a child! no deodorant!

I would suggest taking him to the pediatrition tho. or google the symptom and see if it matches conditions, and see if he has the other symptoms of the conditions.

its probably nothing serious. but better safe than sorry!

    good luck =)

  13. WOW that is strange.....heathly eating should prevent that but I would take him in to make sure there is nothing more serious and the smell can be reaking through his pores.

  14. Yes that is normal, he is just a normal boy who likes to play and get dirty.  It might be a little young to be smelling really bad, but you should just get some deodorant and he will be fine.  Good luck!

  15. no they it kinda wierd, i would make a doctors appointment with you pediatrician, and maybe buy him deodorant.
