  1. i had this pain too because i had my braces in last week.

i just ate soup for a week through a straw and a week later i feel fine.

just try and be patient for a week.

    hope you get better soon

  2. Try chewing gum, even if it hurts.

It makes it better a little.

Or take the recommended dose of pain

    relievers.

When I had braces, the first thing I ate

was applesauce and drink milk, because

everything else I ate made me such in pain!!!

    I know how you feel.

The pain lasted me for a good 2 weeks.

To past my pain I just kept my teeth moving,

like chewing gum or just biting your tongue or something.

    Eat soup.

    Hope this can help you.

  3. I've had braces for 7 years now, so yeah I know the pain. To ease the pain, all you have to do is take Tylenol 500 mg extra strength, it always helps me.

Then you can eat whatever you want.

  4. I feel your pain. I had braces many moons ago. Take some Advil or Tylenol. Your teeth hurt because they are in the process of slowly breaking away from their old position and are moving towards their new one. It will hurt for a little while and then not so much. However, be fore warned, every time you go in for an adjustment it will feel a little bit like it does now, but it won't last as long. Good Luck and I know that you will have a beautiful smile!

  5. Take Ibuprofen for the pain, it works better when reducing dental pain due to inflammation.  You can eat, but only very soft foods.  So no chewing for a few days, this will pass.  Try ice cream, smoothies, yogurt, mac and cheese.  Sip on ice cold drinks, this will numb your teeth and mouth and also de-activate your wire temporarily which will help reduce the pain.

Your teeth are already moving due to the braces so be patient.  The Advil or Motrin will be your best friend during your ortho treatment.  Try to avoid letting your teeth touch together for a few days, touching each other or clenching may make them feel worse.  Some patients say its better to clench and chew and others say its better not too.  You will have to be the judge of that one.  Take the Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours and eat and drink ice cold things, you will start to feel much better by tonight or tomorrow.  Good luck!
