I named my daughter Phoenix.  No one liked my name either.  They used to tease me too.  My kid, my choice.  Everyone that knows her couldn't imagine her as anything else.  She even says her name as Enix.

I think that parents who do that sort of thing when they name their kid is being a little cruel because they aren't thinking of their child, they are only considering that THEY (the parent) like the name and it's "cool" to them, but honestly, kids don't think like adults about the names they have, so I think that "Xenu" is going to HATE his name...

HOWEVER, it's her son, so there's nothing anyone can do.

Why do you care? It's her son. She can name him Garbage Can if she wants to. It's none of your business.

I guess everyone has the right to name their kid whatever they want, but I feel bad for the kid. It's pronounced "Zenu" right? She needs to stop being offended and realize her kid is the one going to be offended when people can never pronounce it or tease him. It reminds me of emu.
