  1. i think you should buy the DOG DIAPERS, and teach her that that is where she goes, grab like a few newspapers and roll them up and hit her once, (not too hard) to teach her that it is bad...

  2. Welcome to Dog-Parenthood.  The first lesson today is to calm down.  Your message alone seemed very ANGRY, so I would suggest taking a big breath and maybe sipping some wine.  Dogs feed off of humans' emotions and behaviors, so when you are ANGRY, they will be nervous and possibly angry, too.  If you are calm, then they are calm.

The next lesson is to never, ever, EVER, hit a dog.  Don't kick the dog.  Don't swipe the dog.  Would you like someone to hit your child if they wet their pants on their carpet?  Didn't think so.  And just like your child would feel the hit they would receive, the dog feels the hit, too.  Only they don't understand WHY they are being hit, like a child might.

I would suggest taking your lovely little puppy to PetSmart, or PetCo and paying a measly $99 for Puppy Training.  It is a beginner training course for puppies and the trainers can give you helpful tips and hints on how to properly potty train your dog.  Or, you can simply buy a book on the subject.  For instance, I spent $4.99 two years ago and bought a PetSmart book on potty training.

While you are there, buy some Puppy Training Pads.  These are absorbent pads that you place near the door to the outside area (the door the dog would usually be led out to relieve themselves).  When you unfold the pad (it's not too large), coax your dog over, and just let them sniff the pad.  The pad is lined with a spray that attracts dogs to it to pee and p**p.  Once they sniff it, they are drawn to it to pee.  It may take some time for them to put 2 & 2 together (pee - pad) but soon they'll use it.

After about a week of them using the pads to pee inside then start moving the pad outside, right on the other side of the door.  The dog should have access to going right out, (like a doggy door) and soon they will figure out that now the pad is outside, I need to go, so I'm going outside.  After about a week of this, place the pad on the grass or area you want them to go.  Same thing will happen.  "Now it's over here...so, I'll go here".  Soon you can remove the pads all together.

If you find accidents in the house, don't freak.  Clean it up right away (on carpets scrub and buy some smell-remover liquids to clean with) and watch the dog closely.

Dogs should be let out 15 minutes after feeding for at least an hour.  This way their food digests and they can pee and p**p at will.  When indoors, if you see a dog circling, or if they arch their backs and their tails are either pointed or tucked under and they are sniffing the ground feverishly, take them out.  That is a huge sign they are ready to go.

Good luck but just remember that with pets, patience is definitely a virtue.

--DO NOT HIT THEM WITH A NEWSPAPER.  Hitting them with anything is the same as doing any of the above mentioned abusive behaviors.  It's the first way to make your dog fearful of you and that means, untrusting.  So, if you want a timid, scared dog who thinks when they see you reading the paper they have just done something wrong, then go ahead, hit them with it.  If not, just do the patience is a virtue thing.

  3. dogfight him.

  4. you dont hit a dog unless you want to develop behavioural issues

here my blog contain a lot of basic info on dog holding, its not nesicary to hit the dog, you can punish it on its natural terms, treat it like its mom or another pack member would, this it will understand a lot better

hiting it just teach the dog that hands can be dangerous, it comes to fear it, and well a hand moving fast get persived as a treath, and before you know it, the dog missinterpit a situation and end up biting to protect itself...most often a kid

feel free to mail me, i grown up helping breeding, raising and training dogs

and your dog is a terrier snauzer mix, not the best dog for a new owner, terriers and snauzers is among dogs notoriously needing a lot of work, because they are working dogs, they need a lot of excersise and stimulation. So just be aware the dog migth be small in body, but in stamina and mentality it is a big dog...and have the needs of a big dog...which means it need more then a half hour walk a day, and it need something to use it brain on...walks in forest terain is good as they use their brain when they use their nose

    kong toys also good

your dog isnt bad, or stupid, in fact she is very highly smart, and untrained, probably understimulated and bored. She is of lines breed to think and not just ask how high when you say jump. She can be a great dog if you invest some work in her, iif not she will be a terror. I sugest obidience classes, they are not for the dog really to be trained (though it will as well + get socialised which is very important specialy with this type of dog), but to train You in how to train the dog.
